I think the future of American heavy industry (Although maybe some time hence)is going to be the same as the story in the UK. It will all but vanish and be replaced with IT, and Service Industries. No need to tell you where it will go to, because you already own one of the Jet examples of machinery!
it's called evolution I suppose.
